Many animals are in danger of becoming extinct due to humans and Global Warming. Some species only live in very small areas, so if those places are destroyed, the animal won't have a chance for the others of its kind to survive and save the animal from extinction. Why are endangered species in danger? There are so few of them left that they could easily become extinct. When animals become extinct, it affects the whole food chain. For example, if insects were to become extinct, then birds would die off because they had no food, and then cats would die off because the birds had died because the insects had died. This would affect so many animals, not to mention the vegetation. All of the plants that the insects would usually eat would overpopulate, and choke out other plants. This in turn would kill the animals that eat these plants, which would kill the animals that eat the animals that eat the plants, etc. So you see, a huge chain reaction happens when an animal becomes extinct. It can interfere with all of the food chains, not just its own. If you want to help endangered animals, you can donate moneytowards their cause. There are other ways to help them, too. Even telling your friends and family about how to help them can make a difference; the more people that know about them, the better chances they have of survival. |
